BBAR
and V Combinations
Broadband and V Combinations AR coatings operate over at least one spectral
band and one spectral line. The combination usually operates over visible
band plus one or more either IR or UV laser lines. Spectral performance
of a typical BBAR-V combination is shown in the plot below. Coating is
designed for CaF2 and it has to have very low reflection at 355 nm and
efficient reflection reduction over 400-650 nm.
R
< 0.1% @ 355 nm, Rav < 0.3% @ 400-650 nm
@ 0°-20° SUBSTRATE IS CaF2
Next example looks more as a very broad BBAR, but it is actually designed
as the combination of the extended V-coating that operates over 950-1010
nm band, and the BBAR that covers very wide range from 1.2-1.7 µ.
Rav
< 0.25% @ 950-1010 nm & 1.2-1.7 µ @ 0°-20°
SUBSTRATE IS FUSED SILICA

Extreme case of BBAR and V combination is shown in the plot below, where
BBAR covers range from 1000 5500 nm with average reflection below
2% and at the same time has R < 0.3% @ 532 nm.
R
< 0.3% @ 532 nm, Rav < 2% @ 1.0-5.5 µ
@ 0°-10°
SUBSTRATE IS SAPHIRRE
Plot below shows spectral performance of the 2V and BBAR combination
operating over the visible range, and 1064 and 1057 nm laser lines. The
coating is designed to have very high efficiency for laser lines and less
than 0.5% average reflection at 440-680 nm range.
R
<0.15% @ 1064 and 1570 nm &
Rav < 0.5% @ 440-680 nm @ 0°-5°
